Natural dancer and mass hero, Govinda. Chi Chi, as he is popularly known, was brought up in a middle class family. He grew up in Virar, a suburb of Mumbai. He started his film career with illzam but was recognized as an good actor in Hathya. He began to do comic roles since his movie Aankhein. Almost all the movies that he teamed up with director David Dhawan were box-office hits.
He is a religious man and his inspiration to work comes from his mother who is also a religious woman. His brother, Kirti Kumar, is a film-maker too and the director of Hatya and Ilzaam movies.
Govinda's comic roles took him to the heart of many hindi movie lovers. He is loved by his co-stars too---he is Raveena Tandon's and Karishma Kapoor's favourite co-actor.
